Evangelism and Discipleship Training

The Evangelism and Discipleship Training is designed to equip and empower disciples who make disciples.

Evangelism and Discipleship Training offers the opportunity to complete an advanced Certificate in Evangelism and Discipleship and become an effective disciple maker in three months.

Gospel Outreach Team

The participants have the opportunity to get hands-on gospel outreach internship experience through our Gospel Outreach Team mission trips.

The Gospel Outreach Team (GO-Team) is a small group of disciples who are evangelism and discipleship oriented and who will go beyond the immediate influence of existing churches reaching the unreached neighborhoods and unchurched people with the gospel.

We are called to “go and make disciples of all nations”. More than 45 million people of Myanmar are with little or no access to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Over two billion people around the world have never heard the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Provided through gospel outreach in communities and discipleship groups, we walk with new believers to help them grow as disciples of Jesus Christ and equip and empower them to make disciples who make disciples.

Our Impact

peter-mangs-family-2015

God has implanted in Peter Mang a vision to plant churches that plant churches across Yangon Region. Having received the confirmation of God’s call to start a new church, and on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, Peter Mang and his family moved to the 7 Quarter, Hlaingtharyar, Yangon. They had to stay in rented small rooms, small bungalow, tiny apartment and houses among the multi-ethnic communities of Hlaingtharyar. The fund is established with a self-support.

Dr. David Vumzalian and Joshua Lian have taken part in the work of church planting, which enabled us to have teaching ministry that is fruitful and effective. God has been blessing the gospel ministry with new converts from other faith or non-faith coming to faith in Christ. Then we organized small groups and started house churches at different locations. The follow-up family discipleship, family support ministry, and fellowships and prayer meetings are functioning on a regular basis.

On September 23, 2012, Agape Church conducted its first corporate worship service at a rented 2-storey house of Agape Mission Center, located in 13 Quarter, Hlaingtharyar. We began functioning Children’s ministry, gathering on Sunday on a regular basis, and inspiring a true Christian life. Three months later a mission center was closed due to financial restraints. However, we continued functioning house churches and God added more saved believers to Agape Church.

On September 8, 2013, under a godly leadership of Dr. David Vumzalian, we relaunch a corporate worship at the new location. Worship services were conducted at a rented apartment located in 6 Quarter, Hlaingtharyar. Four months later, a rented apartment was closed due to prohibiting restraints, and then we have only got to continue to function with small groups and house churches.

Though much trials and temptations, financial obstacles, prohibiting restraints a church has faced, when we recapture our tremendous responsibility “to care of the church of God, which He purchased with His own blood”(Acts 20:28), we commit ourselves to live in obedience to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.

Welcome to Agape Church Planting

Agape Church Planting is a family of church planters working to plant a healthy church in every community where people from all walks of life experience redemptive love, transforming grace, living hope, and abundant life.

As a biblically independent church with a strong disciple-making culture, we strive to lead and grow a healthy church that has Jesus Christ as Savior King in loving God, loving people, and making disciples. We gather weekly in house churches to engage, equip and empower every disciple to multiply healthy disciples and churches.

Agape Church exists to establish a healthy and vibrant community of faithful followers of Jesus Christ. We do that through meeting people where they are to build an intimate relationship with God, create a strong disciple-making culture that will multiply healthy disciples, equip and empower God’s people to do His work and build up His church, and strengthen and accelerate church planting in Myanmar.

Agape Church Planting was started at the initiative of Agape Mission with the vision of planting a healthy church in every community in Myanmar. As a living organism of Christ, a healthy church is built up of born-again believers indwelt and empowered by the Spirit of God. As a community of faith, it is comprised of everyone who has repented of their sins and placed their faith in Christ and confessed Him as their personal Savior and Lord.

“Speaking the Truth in Love”, we maintain a genuine Christian love relationship with all people God brings to Agape Church. We have a great love for the church of Christ and the burden to shape the church according to God’s standards and to continue to adhere unfalteringly to what Christ intended His Church to be.
