Church Planting Training Program

The goal of developing healthy church planters is to plant healthy churches.

The program equips strategic church planters with essential competencies, theological foundations, and practical tools to launch healthy churches quickly, while applying biblical principles and proven strategies for church planting and multiplication in their local contexts.

The program emphasizes evangelism, discipleship, church planting, biblical theology, Bible study, strategic leadership, church planting internship, and the development of context-sensitive strategies for reaching new communities across Myanmar.

Program Offer

The Church Planting Training Program offers a Certificate in Church Planting, which serves as a pathway to the Diploma or Postgraduate Diploma in Missions and Church Planting offered by Agape University School of Missions and Church Planting, in collaboration with Agape Church Planting.

Strategic Goals

Agape Vision 2033 is a strategic church planting initiative that aims to establish 300 healthy churches among unreached people in Myanmar by the end of 2033.

Our master plan for Agape Vision 2033 is to establish church planting training centers in strategic locations across Myanmar. In 2026, we will launch three training centers in the Yangon, Mandalay, and Sagaing regions.

Our goal is to train and equip 300 strategic church planters across Myanmar by 2033.

Church Planting Internship

The Church Planting Internship Program will allow the students to gain experience in mission-oriented research, multicultural missions, disciple making, small group ministry, strategic leadership, and church planting among unreached people groups in Myanmar.

Church Planting Interns will work in their new church plants in some parts of Myanmar for 2 – 3 months. The strategic church planters will work with a team of practice leaders and experienced practitioners to multiply disciples and establish new healthy churches among unreached people groups.

During the Church Planting Internship, students will be required to do mission-oriented research, write an envisioning, develop a Church Planting Master Plan, and submit it to the Faculty of the School of Missions and Church Planting in the last week of the internship to be eligible for graduation.

In addition, the Master Plan will determine the selection of called, equipped, qualified, and strategic church planters to join the church planting team with Agape Church Planting.

Course Credit

In our accelerated church planting intensive program, each modular course from the Core Courses is consists of 2 credit hours, bringing the program total to 12 credit hours.

Each core course includes in-person classes over one month occurring every Tuesday and Thursday of the week (2 hours per session, 4 hours per day, for a total of 32 hours of direct instruction), along with 60 hours of outside the classroom student work, requiring approximately 90 hours of total student engagement.

Program Duration

The Church Planting Training Program is a six-month, full-time accelerated church planting intensive delivered through an in-person cohort learning model.

This includes mission outreach programs, church planting internships, mission-oriented research, strategic ministry planning, and church-related ministry practicums.

Course Completion

Upon successful completion of the Church Planting Training Program, participants will be awarded a Certificate in Church Planting from the School of Missions and Church Planting at Agape University.
